Bloum

Born 1971 in Bali. Travels and goes to school. Meets AndrZ Cardenas (Bouba) in 1982. Works in the Archives of her grandmother Niki de Saint Phalle from 1985-1990. Graduates from High school in Paris: 1989. Goes to New York with Bouba in 1990. From 1991 studies Illustration, then Fine Arts at Parsons School of Design (NYC). In 1993 her son Djamal is born. In 1995 starts working excusively around and with plastic bags. Starts a network of friends and family collecting bags. Receives BFA in 1996. Moves to San Francisco in 1997 and her daughter Dawn is born. From 1997 to 2002 works helping organize Niki's Archives and storages as well as her two large donations (to Sprengel Museum -Germany- and MAMAC-France-) and is now one of the three members of the Niki Charitable Art Foundation promoting Niki's art around the world. Since 1997 is working on "plastic-bag-paintings". Had exhibitions in San Francisco (2001, 2004, 2005), Nice (2002) and Orange County (2003). Has been stealing identities of plastic bags for over a decade (de-printing).
