Michele King

Michele's work is inspired by subtlety and transition, particularly as seen in nature-- trees stripped of their leaves, winter light, the tide. She is interested in the intangible, often unconscious, qualities that are the "essence" of someone/thing/place.

Michele uses color, light, and degrees of transparency to illustrate her impressions; form is secondary to atmosphere or mood. Her paintings and mixed media pieces are created in layers on wood, canvas, aluminum, or paper.
