Tessa Merrie
Tessa's work is concerned with natural objects, and creating compositions to describe them and their intimate space.
She inherited a love of the outdoors from her family growing up camping and hiking in the Scottish Highlands, and a curiosity for the natural world from her father, a keen naturalist. Her current work stems from natural debris collected during many excursions in the California wilderness.
Having formerly obtained a BA in textiles and MA in sequential design, Tessa worked as a multimedia designer for 10 years. She started painting commercially in 2004 after moving to San Francisco from London.
Her work is in private collections in London and California.
